“Birth is not only about making babies, birth is about making mothers…strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”
– Barbara Katz Rothman
Carrie Cobb Midwife Services, formerly Gentle Arrival Midwifery, knows there are many different reasons to choose a midwife. One thing I highly respect in your choice of a midwife is inviting a person to be part of the most memorable moments in your pregnancy beginning with the first time you hear the heartbeat of your newest addition to the time you feel their soft skin against yours.
Throughout the pregnancy you will have questions and my goal is to assist you to arrive at the answers you need. No birth is a one size fits all and having your baby safely at home makes it all the more special.
I believe that a woman’s body was created to give birth and therefore view pregnancy and birth as a natural process. Throughout your pregnancy I support you and your family physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. I believe that you and your family are the best decision makers for your body and your baby. As your midwife I act as a guide, mentor, and educator through this wonderful journey of life.
I understand the importance of a healthy pregnancy and birth. My goal is for clients to feel at ease throughout the process of prenatal care and delivery. Therefore, I strive for excellence in our care for mothers and their babies to ensure safe, natural, and gentle deliveries.
I educate mothers on how to be prepared for birth by starting with nutrition and overall health, which are both important for the little one growing and developing inside your body. In order to maintain a low risk pregnancy and birth I continue to assist you with education on nutrition, exercise, and ways to help ensure a successful pregnancy and birth experience. As your midwife I want to prevent hospitalization as much as possible while still keeping safety at the utmost importance. If you must be hospitalized for any reason during your pregnancy or birth, I will be right there with you acting as your support team.
