carrie cobb midwife services

Welcome to Carrie Cobb Midwife Services, formerly Gentle Arrival Midwifery Services of Central Arkansas, founded in 2006 by Carrie Cobb. I work to serve the women of Arkansas through home birth services, childbirth classes, lactation support, placenta encapsulation, doula services, and more.

MEET CARRIE

I believe God has a plan for each of our lives. Some of us know from the beginning what we are called to do whereas others travel down different paths before they identify their true calling. It wasn’t until after the difficult hospital birth of my first daughter that I realized there had to be a better way to bring a new life into this world. After many months of research and seeking opportunities I was privileged to attend my first home delivery. From that moment on I knew that God had called me to help other women experience the joy I had just witnessed by becoming a midwife. The relationship that is created between a midwife and a family is like no other. The love, trust, and respect that develops during this journey remains forever ingrained in my heart.

I started attending births as a doula, also known as a labor coach in 1997. Some of the births I attended were in hospitals while others were at home or in a birth center. I became a childbirth educator with The Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth in 2003. In 2006 I became an Arkansas Licensed Lay Midwife and founded Gentle Arrival Midwifery, now Carrie Cobb Midwife Services. I soon went on to finish my nursing degree at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I still am working toward earning my Masters in Nursing and dream of one day becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife to further assist women during one of the most memorable times of her life.

I currently reside with my husband in a small suburb outside the Little Rock Area. All three of my children have been homeschooled, but most are grown and have left the nest. With my husband and I almost being empty nesters, when time allows, we love to travel abroad, go camping in our local state parks, boating, and enjoying nature.

****DISCLAIMER: This autobiography is meant to inform you of who I am and how I became passionate about home birth, midwifery and my education level. If you hire me, Carrie Cobb, as your midwife please note that you are paying for midwifery services and not nursing services. I am not in any way advertising as a Registered Nurse but acting and practicing only as an Arkansas Licensed Lay Midwife and governed by the state of Arkansas and the rules and regulations governing midwifery practice.
